10:27 < Lura> you have to enable the IRC plugin
10:29 < Lura> Open your contact list and click on the "Trillian" menu
10:29 < Lura> Go to "Trillian Preferences"
10:30 < Lura> Click on "Plugins"
10:30 < Lura> Check the box for IRC
10:30 < Lura> Go to "Identities and Connections" and enter the info for IRC

From the Trillian website :

Step 1. Go into your Connection Manager, as illustrated: Image:So_t_connections.jpg

Step 2. Add an IRC connection, as illustrated: Image:So_t_connections_irc.jpg


Step 3. Fill out the five fields given:

Server Alias - Any description you want for this connection.
Location (2nd field) - Click the ellipsis (...) next to the field to choose a server; or, if you wish to enter your own, enter the server's FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name), such as irc.trillian.com, followed by two colons ("::") and the port (e.g. 6667). If your server requires a special password to connect then enter it between the two colons.
  • No password example: irc.trillian.com::6667
  • Passworded server example: irc.trillian.com:secret:6667
Nickname - Your nickname determines your identity on the server and within the channels.
Username - If you wish your WHOIS information to display anything other than your nickname, enter it here.
User Info - Like username, extra information that can optionally be shown when somebody does a WHOIS on you.

Step 4. Click Connect and Trillian will add this connection.

Step 5. You can control this connection by clicking on the IRC connection icon, which is the fifth circle (color: gray) under your status and icon at the top of the contact list. Here you can disconnect, or communicate directly with the server (and issue commands) by opening your IRC connection's Status Window
