The Newbian Institute

Raid Leader: Brhino / Theodred

History/Info: The Newbian Institute has been raiding since March of 2006. Since then the Newbians have prided themselves on bringing inexperienced raiders with good attitudes to some of the most fun encounters that World of Warcraft has to offer. The group is comprised of raiders from almost every guild in the Penny Arcade Alliance.

Before the World of Warcraft's Burning Crusade expansion, The Newbian Institute has raided with 332 unique people. Since the raid's 2 year anniversary the list of PAA members experiencing the Newbian raid has reached nearly 400 people. They retain the largest pool of unique raiders passing through a single raid group in the PAA. Currently the Newbians most recent adventures include progressing on Mount Hyjal and The Black Temple.

The Newbian Institute has built a tradition of progression while maintaining an open and friendly approach to raiding.

Night Cap

Raid Leader: Chaana / Hunam

History/Info: Night cap is composed of mostly members from Disciples of DivX along with others. We have a 10 man Zul'Aman raid with 4 timer Bear Run and and a 25 man Mt. Hyjal raid that we are currently in progression with Archimonde. We have a fun attitude in respect to raiding that includes being competitive with challenging content.

Time Travellers

Raid Leader: Rootette

History/Info: Time Travelers got their start on September 17, 2007 in Karazhan. After raiding Karazhan for a few months, the members of the raid have started to grow weary of the friendly confines of Medivh's tower and are preparing to branch out into Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon's Lair and Zul'Aman.

Raid Leader: Harpalyce

History/Info: Raid group with many 10 man and 25 man raids. This well-established raid group has many members, many of which were originally running Pre-BC raids like Zul'Gurub and Molten Core together.

Status: Current runs include Karazhan badge farming, Gruul, and Zul'Aman. Be sure to sign up for their usergroup on the PAA forums if interested in learning more.


Burly Raiders

Raid Leader: Pooblius

History/Info: This raid group tackles most of the 10 man and 25 man raids. With Karazhan on farm status, badges are collected and nubs are quickly geared up on Wednesday nights. Thursday nights we progressing through SSC. Lurker, Hyrdross, and Tidewalker are farmed. FLK and Leo are downed frequently now too. Vashj soon to follow! Saturday afternoon we take out the big wussbags Gruul and Mag. A couple ZA's usually run on Friday/Saturday nights. The week ends off with working through TK. Loot Reaver and Solarion are cake, and we're at the cusp of pwning Alar.

Status: Active and recruiting.


Intense Experience

Raid Leader: Ontos

History/Info: PAA BC raid that started in January. It is considered semi-static, and will soon move on to 25 man static raiding in SSC and TK, using members from Ontos' Kara run plus others.

Status: Currently running Karazhan under the raid name "Medivh's Uncouth Dinner Guests" with all except Netherspite on farm, Gruul, Magtheridon, and Zul'Aman. Will be starting SSC and TK runs to replace Kara in approximately 3-4 weeks. The raid is currently seeking static members of all classes and roles for its 25 man content.
