Raid:Flavour Country
From Penny Arcade Alliance
Flavour Country was the name eventually taken on by the first Pan-PAA focused progression raid. With the first PAA clears of BWL and the only Pre-TBC PAA Clear of C'thun, they were usually one of the top two or three most progressed alliance raids on the server at the time. They were also the most progressed PAA raid in Naxxramas, regularly clearing the three bosses of the Spider Wing as well as Patchwerk, Grobbulus, Noth the Plaguebringer, and Instructor Razuvious. They were stymied from further progression in Naxxramas by arguments over whether to focus on progression or farming of current content.
Starting a few weeks before TBC, more and more Flavour Country raid characters began to join the non-PAA guild <Flavour Country>. Originally a social 'alt' guild, many players left in protest after they felt a harassment issue had not been properly actioned by the PAA leadership. This exodus included many PAA officers who had been raiding with Flavour Country at the time. Eventually, the FC raid leaders decided that a non-PAA raiding guild would have an easier time recruiting top raiders and focusing on progression, so they decided to make a full split. The resulting Flavour Country guild is currently the number one raiding progression guild on the server.
Raiders who were still in the PAA at the time were allowed to continue raiding without joining the new guild, however new raiders were all asked to join normally. At the launch of the expansion, there were about six members of the PAA who were raiding with Flavour Country. Within a few months, most of these players decided to move their mains to the FC guild.
At this time, there is only one player who raids with Flavour Country but is still in the PAA, although there are a large number of players in that guild who still have alts in PAA guilds. Flavour Country's charter states that players are to be courteous toward members of the PAA, but there is no official connection between them and the Alliance.
