O.H.M.S.S.: On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Ohmss, a James Bond reference, as Ohmss is an avid James Bond fan. It is the acronym of the 6th James Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Ohmss discovered it at the top of the menu screen in the Nintendo 64 game Goldeneye in 1997 and has been using it in various media as his alias ever since. Origin of Ohmss
History
Ohmss is one of a select few that still play and reside in the Dojo that joined shortly after its creation. Joining the Dojo and the PAA on Sept 1, 2005 (shortly after the guild was created), Ohmss remains a mainstay of the Dojo to the present time. Shortly after hitting 60 (the 5th 60 in the Dojo), Ohmss took it upon himself to drop mining and become an enchanter, effectively becoming the first dedicated guild enchanter. He remains an enchanter to this day offering his services to the greater PAA.
As the original Dojo ranks were "progress in the guild" based, rather than level based as they are now, Ohmss pushed and annoyed Eakers for promotion after promotion to push his character to the top and Ohmss demanded of himself that he be the best. Eventually he earned the title of officer. This was short lived and less than a year later Ohmss retired from officership due to conflicts destroying his enjoyment of the game. Post-Burning Crusade, the conflicting officer left the Dojo and Ohmss was later offered a reinstatement which he heartily accepted. He is still an officer and spends his time in the guild randomly kicking his friends and organizing inactives and the guild bank.
As an officer in the PAA, Ohmss offers his "valuable" insights to officer discussion, often being noted by some as one that usually "backs the wrong horse." He is proud of this fact though, as sometimes there has to be someone out there to hold up the underdog's side of things. Ohmss also moderates the in game PAA chat channels as the poster boy banhandler. Moderating these channels have earned him the title "Fastest ban in the West".
As a raider in vanilla WoW, Ohmss fell way behind. He didn't want to dedicate specific hours to raiding in the starting days of Dark Iron and therefore missed out on vanilla WoW progression. Regardless, Ohmss had the best possible items you could get for his class/spec outside of raids(he played Retribution at the time). He holds the title of the first completed Tier .5 set on the Dark Iron server! He later joined up with the first Dojo raid, Corymatsu's ZG run, and finally picked up organized raiding. He fell in love with the larger raids in Raid the Fridge, the Dojo's MC run, and acted as paladin class captain. Later he developed a taste for tanking, and after gathering the best gear available to a paladin, he joined the Newbians in Blackwing Lair. He didn't reach the endgame though.
Post BC, Ohmss is on the cutting edge of raiding. He is in the top PAA progressed run and for short a time was the best PvE geared (arguably) person in the PAA! Ohmss completed his goal of being the the first PAA (second Alliance side) kill of Illidan Stormrage! He continues to run with raid Mystery Machine and hopes to push further into progression in 2.4.
On the side Ohmss has been known to grind reputations for no apparent reason. He also collects tabards, having 18 to his name!
