Overview
Lura joined KotW in September of 2007 after a long stint in The CTS Dojo. The reason for the change being that he had developed more connections inside the Wang than with the Dojo, so it seemed to make more sense to be in a guild with the people that he hung out with. He originally joined CTS around August of 2005 without knowing a single thing about Penny Arcade. He started on this server because a friend of his (Megiddo) had rolled here with the intention of joining a PAA guild. After joining CTS, he power read all of the PA comics at work and decided that CTS was a good place to stay.
Lura is actually Lura's second character on Dark Iron, the first being the Night Elf hunter, Dilverish. Unfortunately hunters are boring, so Lura decided to try his hand at roguery. It was fun, and so Lura became the new main. The name is just the random name generator's suggestion shortened to four letters. Lura is a guy in real life, despite the feminine "a" at the end of his name.
Pre-TBC, he leveled relatively slowly, barely hitting 60 a month before TBC was launched. After TBC, he again leveled slowly, eventually making it to 70 early in 2007. He has since managed to gear up to a semi-decent level, having seen Kara, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon, Serpentshrine Cavern, and Tempest Keep: The Eye. He now enjoys casually raiding and doing PvP with friends.
Other Characters
Dilverish: Lura's original character on Dark Iron and the one that joined CTS initially. Night Elf hunter that currently sits at level 49, still in CTS. Leveled and still is Beast Mastery spec'd. Unfortunately the character became quite boring, so Lura was rolled soon after.
Origin of name: Play on the character Dilvish from a series of Roger Zelazny short stories.
Current Status: Semi-retired. Still logged in occasionally to chat with people in CTs.
Fezzick: Lura's level 49 twink warrior in The Brute Squad. Originally started as an amusing forum alt to post on the WoW forums with but finally played to current level with the express intent of twinking.
Origin of name: The Princess Bride, duh.
Current Status: If Lura isn't on Lura, he's most likely on Fezzick.
Hann: Lura's level 30 space paladin. Originally rolled to get a character into Exuberance, but since neglected for other, more entertaining, alts.
Origin of name: Random name generator with some minor tweaking.
Current Status: Semi-retired; likely to be picked up at some point.
Quen: Lura's level 33 and growing priest. Rolled to see if he could stand leveling a priest again. Not as bad as he remembered, but still not as fun as other classes.
Origin of name: Lura wanted a name that started with a Q, so he played around for a while and settled on this one.
Current Status: In Annarchy and occasionally played for kicks.
Miraclemax: Lura's level 20 mage. Rolled to try a mage. Too squishy for his tastes.
Origin of name: The Princes Bride again, duh.
Current Status: Unguilded and mostly retired.
Cend: Lura's level 20 druid. Lura's original alt in KotW, since abandoned since Lura is in KotW now anyways.
Origin of name: Random name generator with slight modification.
Current Status: Currently in I Require Frozen Treats and inactive.
Mclóvin: Lura's level 20 warlock. Rolled after a trip to Austin, TX in which Lura was deemed to be "McLovin" based on the character from Superbad by the other Wang members present.
Origin of name: McLovin from Superbad.
Current Status: Guilded in KotW last time he logged in, not played much.
Shammybank: Lura's level 3 shaman bank alt. Lura doesn't like the shaman class, so level 3 this alt shall remain.
Origin of name: Shammy - class; bank - function
Current Status: Guilded in FF Prime and used as a mule/bank alt.
Personal Information
Lura is Justin in Tyler, Texas (currently). A 21 year-old technical support representative for a small software firm. Has met several fellow Wang members, including Incarnated, Therok, Gondry, Azelbaum, Ripman, Taojones, Tastyjane, and Allyria. He has also met Adorein and Akallabeth of Divx and Telaril from Exuberence. Lura is also in love with fellow Wanger Sallendra(Rowscather) being noted as stating "she has really nice tits".
Justin has also been known to pimp out various PAA women in his free time, though innocently claiming to the authorities afterwards that "I couldn't possibly be a pimp- I'm still a virgin!" which is often quickly followed by "Now pay that whore her money if you know what's good for you".
He is also a consumate Sooner fan.
